WEEPING COWBOY

Choreography/Performer: Madison Palffy
Sound: Pharmakon, Sylvester, Anna von Hausswolff

WEEPING COWBOY is a study of disorientation from a somatic experience as well as materially. A cowboy hat sits on top of a basketball, almost like it could speak; a performer rolls underneath a long stretch of plastic becoming lost and in danger of suffocation; spinning until falling over; the sound technician stopping and starting the music; the line between laughing and crying. It is a solo made in the first year of grad school in a new place—sifting old and new ideas and identities—splitting at the seams.

WEEPING COWBOY was performed at Rhinoceropolis, a DIY venue in Denver, CO (November 2019) as a work in progress and at CU Boulder as a part of FRESH (December2019).
